The diagnosis of gallbladder disease is usually confirmed by seeking the help of your family doctor who may order all or some of the following diagnostic tests.

● Laboratory – blood samples.
● Ultrasound tests to confirm the presence of stones – this is a painless sound wave test of your abdomen.
● HIDA studies – a painless nuclear medicine test to study the function of the gallbladder.

Your family doctor will guide you through the diagnostic tests and decide which is best for you.
