The diagnosis of acute appendicitis can be difficult as there are no specific tests that demonstrate the absolute presence of acute appendicitis.  Patients with some or all of the symptoms of acute appendicitis are encouraged to seek their family doctor’s or internist’s help or go to the Emergency Room for a prompt evaluation.
